PvE only Mo/E questions/info.
I am pretty new to the game. I did play durring the march BWE but i didn't get very far into the game, or try all the class combos that i wanted.
I really like playing a support role. That is why i am interested in making a mo/e charicter. I play with one friend now and we are trying to get some other people. We need to make a good group that can adventure together in the PvE game. We don't really have much if any interest in the PvP or GvG game. I didn't really notice if you receive all the skills of your second profession. Most of the builds that i see listed on this site seem to be made for the PvP aspect of the game and not the PvE game. Most people seem to want to pick 2 skills and dump all the points in those areas. however in a PvE role i can see more benefit in having a lower skill level but 3-4 main skills. What do you all think would be more benificial in having as the main profession Monk or Elementalist? I am leaning towards Monk as the main for the reason that i want to denote that that is my primary role and not a damage dealer. Any suggestions or comments feel free to post your views. |

an alpha tester suggested ranger /monk as his best survivalist for pve areas
this was for me as i have to solo or use henchmen due to time conditions i do not pvp at all the skill pumping works for pve as well if you spread them to thin (4 is thin) you lose the benefit of the high bonuses (jack of all trades COMPETENT in few or none) you might check the builds directory to look at builds that are successful and draw your conclusions Last edited by Loviatar; Mar 23, 2005 at 08:19 PM // 20:19.. |

well i had a Elementalist/monk on the last day of the beta and i really like it. I forgot to check while i was able about the skills that it gave me.
If Elementalist is my main then i get all the elemetalist skills. Water, Fire, Earth, Air, and Energy storage. however if i pick elementalist as my secondary then i don't get the Energy storage. Is that correct. So your secondary professtion doesn't get the specialized skill only the main class skills (example Fire, Water, Earth, Air) Added: I also noticed that we only got 5 skill points per level. does that change after a certain level? You should get 200 total at 20th level. does this change to 15 after level 10? Last edited by shayol; Mar 23, 2005 at 08:41 PM // 20:41.. |

correct and an ele needs energy because it burns it like crazy
that is the beauty of the game you actually have to choose if you choose ele as primary and try for all the elements you will be killed off in pvp and pve in short order as you are spread too thin if you have friends with you build characters to compliment each others weaknesses there is not the ungodly super build in this game like in others where you have to be this just to survive EDIT they changed the points for the next beta to reflect a more steady progression of point increase i forget the exact figures but it was a welcome sight Last edited by Loviatar; Mar 23, 2005 at 08:46 PM // 20:46.. |
